Tech top tip of the week : Ferrari 412 - vacuum hose microplex

This week I received the following update from someone who ran into this issue. On this blog there is not much tech advice but I just noticed I have this bloglabel called "fixit" (on the right side of the blog). So if you have anything useful to share for the community I'm happy to add it here and label it accordingly so you can look it up. Else I would suggest to post it on Ferrarichat. 

Check if the vacuum hose is connected to the microplex
This is usually forgotten
Most people don't even know
In my case the tube was just hanging in the engine compartment
The vacuum tube is connected to the cam cover and adjust the ignition timing (advance/retard)

Dutch Ferrari 400's registered on the road

Before, during and afterwards the meeting the total amount of registered 400s in the Netherlands were discussed. Via the following Dutch website it's easy to find out: www.kenteken.tv

So I compiled this table below. There are in total 3726 Ferrari's registered in the Netherlands per today.
Which includes 71 ones from the 365/400/412 series, or more precise:

15 x 365GT4 2+2

17 x 400 Carburettor  (10 Automatic / 7 Manual)

22 x 400i (14 Automatic / 8 Manual)

17 x 412  (7 Automatic / 10 Manual)

The orange ones are new delivered in the Netherlands and are still present today. 
The blue ones are a top 3 of owner who posses their car for more than 20 years by today.
The red on at the bottom must be one of the latest registered in 1990. The MOT is expired since 1993. So this one might be sitting in some kind of collection. It was however registered again into the NL since 2021. Therefore It might be also registration database issue.  

Note I personally don't keep track of any VINs or data related to owners. Nor am I a Ferrari club member. So from that perspective I was not much of a use to get a greater turn up for this meeting. 

Todays 1st Dutch Ferrari 400 owners meeting is a fact

We couldn't have wished for any better weather today. The location was at the "Rijper Eilanden Hotel" in North Holland. Unfortunately a few could not make it so we ended up with a modest 5 cars but very happy owners. Out of these there were 2x manual 412 and 3x 400 Automatic carburettors. After lunch at the hotel we had a very interesting visit at the premises of  a peculiar collector of mostly old vehicles, ie busses, trucks, lorries and some of his private cars. Plans and ideas are already in the make for next year, so if you are interested to join you can contact me.

Dutch Ferrari 365/400/412 meeting at May 15th 2022 in North Holland

A Dutch owner who recently purchased a Ferrari 412 took the initiative to organize a meeting. Of course I will participate and I'm hereby promoting the venue.
