400i front end repairs in Maranello Concessionaires old/original Thorpe bodyshop.
There is a lot of tricky lead work needed to make shape of the front end on 400/412s. Particularly getting the front indicator units to fit. Each car is hand shaped from new.This is probably my oldest Maranello picture, from 1986/87.

Yeah, when I started there in 1984, the first job I was given as an apprentice was a small repair on a Mondial qv. It was only a couple of months old. Ferrari owners do use their cars and they do get banged up. The 400 shaped cars were probably the last new cars to have so much hand finihing/shaping. They used a lot of lead, tricky to do but very satisfying.
