Doorlock mechanism compatibility

Another nice compatibility item was brought to my attention. It was one which I had covered already; the doorlocking mechnism. It turned out it was also used on other Italian cars, ie Lancia Fulvia but also the Ferrari F40 (which I still find very remarkable). See the overview blog with all compatibilities:

In any case, it turns out the same doorlocking mechanism is used by Mercedes. I suspect the Italians borrowed it from them. See Ebay example:
