Ferrari 400i restored a while back will see if can find more pics .. was very rough had to weld up roof as rotten above screen replace doors and front wing. Doorlock mechanism compatibility

Another nice compatibility item was brought to my attention. It was one which I had covered already; the doorlocking mechnism. It turned out it was also used on other Italian cars, ie Lancia Fulvia but also the Ferrari F40 (which I still find very remarkable). See the overview blog with all compatibilities:

In any case, it turns out the same doorlocking mechanism is used by Mercedes. I suspect the Italians borrowed it from them. See Ebay example:
