Dutch Ferrari 412 Manual - blue on blue. Trick or Treat

Due to a nosey bugger it became apparent to me I never had written a blog about this particular 412 manual that was for sale in the Netherlands a few years back.

I’m pretty sure I did but was unable to find anything on my blog, nor was it saved as a draft. In any case, when doing a new search I still was able to find this old advert online but without photo’s:

1989 Ferrari 412 - A very impressive Ferrari 412 with manual gearbox | Classic Driver Market

Since it was such a unique example, blue on blue, low mileage, manual and new Dutch delivered by Kroymans I made an effort to inspect the car back then. The car was offered for sale at the Dutch car company  “the Houtkamp Collection”. They have a very nice, interesting selection of cars in stock and this one fitted in nicely.

As advertised, it was indeed nearly brand new and in perfect condition. I was also able to inspect some of the paperwork that came with the car. As such I could see more detail about the first owner. It was sold/registered to a company called  “Chain Investment Corp BV” who were based at Parklaan 17 in Rotterdam. I recall that at the time I had this checked out. If my memory serves me right I remember that company did, remarkably, not last very long. For now I’m unable to retrieve any more history on this company. Note the warrantly booklet was signed by Frits Kroymans himself:

As for the address location it turns out this property is now on the national monument list. According to one of the comments on this page, https://nieuws.top010.nl/parklaan-17-villa-jamin.htm , this building once belonged to GM Motors Rotterdam. When I checked this I learned it was after the 2nd world war that GM Continental was indeed performing distribution and registration of their cars on this address. See this Dutch snippet via Conam: Import. bedrijfsauto's (beschrijvingen)

"Opel (D) - General Motors Continental S.A., Antwerpen / Rotterdam

Thought it was interestng to include this piece of automotive history of this building. These days it’s in use by a lawyers firm – they rent the space of an investment company who owns the property.

For those people with an historic interest regarding the Dutch Jamin candy store. see this Dutch link:

To continue the story of this car, the warranty booklet also showed stamped maintenance work carried out. One at Munsterhuis in 2015 which is quite a bit away from it's location and in 2016 at Mugello in Hilversum. Perhaps also a remarkable choice since Kroymans is located in Hilversum.

When this 412 was for sale it was apparently owned by A.J. Mak van Waay - former chairman of the Ferrari Club Netherlands (FCN). It looks like not only he was selling the car but also his own real estate around the same time. See this Dutch article:

Twee villa’s voor de prijs van één in Quote 500-enclave

The car had been appraised in 2017 for € 165.000,-  and offered for sale in 2020 for € 139.500,-

In any case, when now checking the Dutch road register I see this car is no longer listed so likely sold and exported to a foreign country? However I found out that it was still spotted on the Dutch road in 2024 in Laren (which is not far off from Huizen where the previous owner lived):

Curious to know where this car now ended up.
