What specific BMW model is the origin of the rear calipers utilized in the 400 GT, given that the opening is smaller and the mounting bolts are closer together than those on the front? The ones on the Front are definitely BMW 2002 but the ones on the rear are smaller.
And the Facebook responses:

Opkomende bijdrager2002. Pistons, seals and boots all applicable.
Robert SmillieStandard ATE calipers from the era with spacer blocks inserted to accept the wider discs. I have all the caliper rebuild kit part numbers if you need them.
Robert SmillieNote: rear caliper bolts holding two halves together are SPLINE DRIVE, (AKA Ribe) not Torx, use wrong tool and you will damage bolts. Very tight!
Simon WinerAnd the front rotors? Are there non Ferrari parts out there?
Robert SmillieSimon Winer Yes, but you won’t like the price! Mine skimmed up well although they always look unequal thicknesses off the centre line but centre up perfectly on the caliper when shimmed correctly.

Opkomende bijdragerPhilip Copson They are called "rotors" because, like any other rotor in engineering, they are a component that rotates with the wheel to which they are attached. The term is a general one for any part of a machine that rotates, and it applies to the disc-shaped component in a vehicle's disc brake system because it spins with the wheel..
