Talacrest - Ferrari 400i Spider – Brunei Special

 via Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1aXqpegb4x/

Ferrari 400i Spider – Brunei Special 🇧🇳
This Ferrari 400i Spider is one of only two examples converted from new into Spider specification by Lorenz, specifically for the Brunei collection.
Under the hood lies the naturally aspirated 4.8 liter fuel-injected V12, producing approximately 310 horsepower, sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission.
The car was purchased new in October 1983 through Maranello Concessionaires in the UK. It was then immediately exported to Germany on behalf of Lorenz, before being sent to Brunei, where it became part of the famous royal collection.
Since 2002, this Ferrari has been part of the collection of a British Ferrari enthusiast. Since then, it has benefited from a continuous program of mechanical and cosmetic improvements, supported by £88,441 in specialist invoices, including £23,000 spent within the last 1,000 miles alone.
The odometer currently shows 11,227 miles.
Originally delivered in Nero Tropicale, this Ferrari 400i Spider is now finished in Rosso Corsa, paired with a black (Nero) soft top and a Nero leather interior, further enhancing its classic and exclusive character.
When delivered new, the car was finished in Nero Tropicale if anyone has a photo of it within the Brunei collection, I would be very curious to see it.

Niki Lauda Ferrari 365GT4 2+2 on Dutch license plate

I got tagged in this Dutch FB post: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/19zdCriTLk/

And apparently Niki Lauda's Ferrari 365GT4 2+2 has been sold to someone in the Netherlands.
It got registered on a Dutch license plate at the 23rd of December 2025. That's a nice Christmas gift.
I suspect the owner must be a Ferrari Formula 1 enthusiast. Via the Dutch road register I know the car frist registration was on  the 5th of February 1975 and accordingly to the information below he did not had long ownership of the car as it was sold later on somewhere in 1975.

Curious to know what will happen next with this car, will it be restored and brought back to its original specs? Will it go in a private collection or a museum?

Update 27-12-2025: An extra photo got uploaded via Twitter at the RDW station:

FAF Motors Inc - Gifts and Accessoires Brochure & Ferrari Owners Survival Manual

Together with the Straman brochures I ordered two additional items to combine and save on shipping costs and because as I was curious about the content of these documents.

The first item is the FAF Gifts and accessoires brochure (1985). It's now available in the download folder (brochures).

The next item is the Ferrari Owners Survival Manual by FAF motorcars inc. Parts and accessoires - technical information. Unfortunately it does not contain any tech or parts info about the 400 series (nor BB512)- which is not a surprise as these were not sold in the USA. As such I could not be bothered to scan the entire booklet. I only captured the first few pages for reference as per below:

R. Straman Co - Ferrari 400 Cabriolet Conversion advert + brochure

Years ago I spotted these brochures and at the time I couldn't be bothered to purchase them. I guess they were to expensive and/or I thought not to spend more money on frantically collecting stuff.

https://erwin400.blogspot.com/2014/11/r-straman-co-ferrari-400a-cabriolet.html

I always regretted it a little as since then I have never came across them anymore. But now 11 years later I bumped into both at the same time on Ebay via two different sellers.

Needless to say I bought them instantly for my archive. So hereby the new scans. The first one is more or less a one pager advert from a US magazine, not sure which one. On the back there was a unique advert of a grey Mondial.

The other one is a folded brochure which is quite neat:
