Ferrari Pinin

I know this isn't a 400 but due to it's similarities and coolness I'm glad to make an exception.

I have uploaded the Autoweek PDF to the download folder.

Art : Evert de Vreugd : Ferrari 400i

I recalled this Dutch artist due to a FB posting a while ago. It almost looks like a real picture but it's a oil painting.

Check out his website for other cool car paintings:

Art : Hideki Yoshida - Ferrari 412

Ferrari 400 blog stats

Panic is over, I'm back ;-)

Just back from holiday leave in Italy. Meaning I had Italian WiFi as well, so go figure. Next to this it was to hot and of course I had to relax, enjoy and discover the area. So I really coulnd't be bothered to pay any attention to the blog. Hopefully I didn't miss anything out.

Even though I haven't made any blog updates over the past 3 weeks it keeps attracting hits on a daily basis. In the good days I easily got more then 100 visits per day. Lately it's much less. By now I also have reached the 50.000 pageview milestone. For those interested I have included 2 graph snapshots.

Lately it's getting more difficult to find interesting information to provide a blog update. But I'm sure I will bump into something. So for now I will continue a little more. As always; I welcome any input.

IHWC - Alsace 2015 - Ferrari 400 - Fiat Dino - Ferrari 308

As mentioned per earlier blog (http://erwin400.blogspot.nl/2015/06/ferrari-400-rock-and-roll.html) I had 2 weekends ago another nice road trip in France (including the Swiss Jura). This was an alternative road trip as we are skipping Italy for once and will be heading to Goodwood revival later this year. By now one of the guys have compiled a small video about this happening. Enjoy!

And for the records, in 2 consecutive weekends I have made quite a tour through Europe with the 400. I anticipate I must have been driving more then  4000 kms. This car is such a pleasure to drive and is simply in great technical condition. This time around I only had to fill up 1 liter of oil on the entire trip, I'm stunned.

Ferrari 365 / 400 / 412 Bumper reproduction

Yesterday someone on the known FB group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/8727831092/)

1) https://www.facebook.com/groups/8727831092/permalink/10153395139226093/

posted the following:

I bought the 400 of a friend of mine (also present here at the list) but unfortunatly the bumpers were not nice and straight.
These bumpers have a tendencyto warp with the time as the metal inside becomes thicker. Furthermore most bumpers have touched something during their lifetime and even a small parking collission means a bumpers that isn't straight anymore as its is made from a kind of foam over a metal frame ....

I am currently reproducing the front bumper out of resin and reinforced with a galvanized thick frame . From the outside it will be virtually impossible to see its not the original one
Quality will be excellent as I have made an exceptionally straight mould.
Bumpers can be made available as is or high quality painted so can be fitted right away (two bolts at each side) as original

Is there anybody who is also interested in a repro bumper ?
For now I have only the front bumper but also plan the sides of the front bumper and even the complete rear bumper as the one I have on my car is not perfect.

As for the price indication:

Have to calculate how much it will cost to reproduce and paint and ofcourse a bit for the mould. To throw a figure in the air : I try to be around the 500 euro for the front piece, painted and ready to fit but at this stage I can not commit me at a pricelevel .Ofcourse it will also depand on the number I will be able to sell, If I can make a small batch , it will be cheaper than one at the time.

If this has your interest you can contact him via FB or via email: dodicicilindri@outlook.com

Borrani wheels + Ferrari 365 GT4 2+2 / 400 Automatica

I bumped into the Borrani website. I know these type of wheels were optional for the 365 GT4 2+2. Out of curiosity I checked the availabilty on their website and could see they are still present for order for both the 365 and the 400. Personally I don't think they look great on this car. I also noticed there are 2 websites for Borrani. On this one they show available without pics:

http://www.ruoteborrani.com/en/wire-wheels-for-automobiles/classic/borrani-wheel/272/

And on this one you can see more detail including prices and options (spinners and tyres):

Update 9-7-2015: Typical, today I catch the following on their tyre section
