Red Ferrari 412 parked in front of the house

Remember this one:

https://erwin400.blogspot.com/2017/07/ferrari-412-dutch-first-owner-its-jazz.html

Well, I did happen to pass this house last evening again. To my surprise there was a red 400 parked in front of the house. Looks so much better than the other new sports cars.

I might be wrong but it looked like a red 412. If so, it might be actually this one:

Auction - Sotheby's : 1975 Ferrari 365 GT4 2+2 by Pininfarina

Why not, another auction. Since prices are rising this might be another interesting case. But I'm also adding this one due it's unusual color. For now the advert does not show any details as that's being worked upon:

For sale : Ferrari 412 engine

 https://www.classicdriver.com/de/car/ferrari/parts/1987/857433

Ferrari 412 Engine
In 1988, this Ferrari 412 was imported into the U.K. as a project. Due to a change in circumstance, it was then sold to a U.K. based engineer to be rebuilt in 1989. Afterwards, the car was dismantled and dry stored for 28 years. In 2017, the project was then restarted and the engine, having been used for less than 700 miles, was then recommissioned. This included the heads being removed, systematically cleaned, and rebuilt, along with being fitted with new head gaskets. The engine also received a full bottom-end check and rebuild with new gaskets and seals, new spark plugs and HT Leads, an oil pressure check and finally a cylinder compression check.
Now available for purchase, please don’t hesitate to contact the parts team for further information.

Please refer to our main website www.dke.co.uk for full details, additional photos, our terms of sale and accurate pricing as some websites may use out of date currency exchange rates: https://www.dkeng.co.uk/parts/458/engines_components/engines/ferrari_412_engine.html

Auction - RM Sotheby's Monterey 2021 results - Ferrari 400i

This auction had two 400i's for sale and they fetched a very good price (usually in the USA and UK prices are on the lower side compared to Europe mainland). I guess this will uplift the Hagerty price guide.

Import documentation on file shows this Argento over Tan 400i was ordered new by Ron Tonkin Gran Turismo of Portland, Oregon. It was imported to the United States from Italy via a Belgian transporter in September 1984. By January 1985, the car was federalized, approved for road use, and thusly released to Ron Tonkin’s personal collection.

Let me sell you a Ferrari - A dealer's Memoir

A fairly new book that got published in May 2021. And it does have interesting material covered related to the 400. Chapter 7 is called "Automatico" and does provide historical information regarding the usage of the automatic in a Ferrari. Chapter "Madame Ibarra" is an interesting one as that reveals how a new 400i was ordered via grey import (Paris) and sold locally in the USA.

I managed to read a lot using Google books but on a 2nd attempt many pages appears to be limited. Have a try yourself via:

https://books.google.nl/books?id=xLkxEAAAQBAJ&lpg=PP1&dq=let%20me%20sell%20you%20a%20ferrari&pg=PP1#v=onepage&q=let%20me%20sell%20you%20a%20ferrari&f=false

Or simply order it, I think it's a nice read.

Update 4-8-2021: So yes, I bought the e-book, it's cheaper and the hardcopy is not available in my country (yet). And yes, both chapters did mention quite a bit about the 400i, including some photo's.
