Prince Bernhard Ferrari 400i

An old archive article in the Dutch newspaper (de Telegraaf) from 1983. Prince Bernhard and his wife princess Juliana has just arrived to celebrate the birthday of their daughter (queen Beatrix). They are unloading the gifts from the trunk from his "sportcar".  His other daughter, princess Irene, just arrived a little later in her Ford Escort.

I managed to find a much better and complete photo of the scene, added below. It's from a different article whereby it's mentioned the car in question is a Maserati :-)

Ferrari 412 radio & amplifier - Blaupunkt

Recently I was approached by a Dutch 412 owner who had issue's with his radio. Well, mostly with the speaker output. The original car radio was replaced by a Becker and now he was in doubt if there was a supporting amplifier. And if so, where it would be located in the car.

It is my understanding that these cars were delivered without radio from the factory. And on request one could be supplied and installed by the local dealer. However, I have seen many 412s all supplied with the same radio model: Blaupunkt New York SQR 05

As such I suspect these came standard delivered with the car. Since they are mentioned in the parts list I'm pretty sure this is the case:

https://www.eurospares.co.uk/parts/ferrari/412-mechanical/cooling-heating/cooling-electric-fans-heating-windscreen-washer-and-radic-31642

Apparently there are two parts numbers mentioned for the radio (item 13) - not sure about the difference.

Since I had checked this I could see also the amplifier is displayed on the parts list. The radio was already checked OK with speakers hooked up directly. Now we know this it was still unclear where the amplifier was located.

It was not hidden in the midconsole:

But it was located in the boot:

As such I now know the exact type and model: Blaupunkt Quadro Amplifier BQA 80 7.607.393.010

See more details specified in this link:

One photo was unknown to me, so just for the records:

Apparently the car is still somewhere residing in Swiss.

Replica with a Ferrari 400 engine

My radar caught this older FB posting from 2017 by today. Never seen this one before and it has been stuffed with a Ferrari 400 engine.

I have no idea what it is. Tried to find out more about it on their website:

http://www.mcautocreations.com/ but no Joy. Looks like some kind of replica but I can't tell what brand and model.

For sale - Ferrari 365GT4 2+2

 Just for the records: https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1328180

Adding it here because of the mention of the first owner who kept it for a very long time:

This Ferrari 365 GT4 2+2 is perfectly preserved, first Silver painting, never restored with matching chassis and engine number and delivery new by Ferrari to the official Auto Becker dealership in Dusseldorf, Germany.
The first owner, Mr. Horst of Hurth-Hermulheim, kept the car until 1988

One of only 525, of which only 216 were built in 1973
Chassis No. 17271
Engine No. 693

When checking it was sold in 2015 for a decent price:
