Movie : The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent - Nicolas Cage - Ferrari 400i

The website to consult cars used in movies is www.imcdb.org

I was triggered by an Instagram post and I see it's already listed on their website:

And someone did make some captures of the movie scenes as well.

 Spotted this one on Instgram:

I thought I recognized it, it's very likely the same one as spotted in this blog:

Magazine Sport Auto Juli 1983- Alles über Ferrari

A special edition with a few articles regarding Ferrari including the 400i. Not a great article though so just for the records. It's available in the download section. Viel spass.

HR Ownen Reports - Ferrari go automatic

I obtained this brochure published by HR Owen. It does contain a lot info about the high end cars they sell. Including a 2 pager about the new Ferrari 400 Automatic. I only scanned these pages and converted it into a pdf, available in the download section.

Interesting to read about the automatic usage in the city back then in the seventies. Still a valid argument and on the crowded (highway) roads these days as well. Also the performance of the automatic versus the manual is nicely pointed out. And it does even mention the sound of the engine which does not impede conversation nor listening to music.

Wedding car

Yesterday someone posted some (old) wedding photo's in our Facebook group which of course included a Ferrari 365GT4 2+2. I too spotted the license plate which were barely readable but saw it started with MO. Although interesting I didn't make any further enquiry but another close watcher spotted it too and remarked if the plate was indeed MO393333 and consequently used in the movie about Enzo Ferrari
(see blog: https://erwin400.blogspot.com/2014/07/ferrari-400-gt-course-stock-video-603.html)

Turns out this was the case indeed. The person who posted the photo's appeared to be the mechanic for the owner of this car (stating as wel he used the car often) The owner happened to be Fabrizio Violati. I had no idea who he was but this was found out easily: https://kidston.com/features/arrivederci-to-fabrizio-violati/

The indivuals on the photo happens to be friends of this mechanic. What a great story! (photo's taken in 1993).
