Prestige restoration : Ferrrari 400i bodywork

 And another one whereby high quality work is being done on a 400.
I had already shared some work on this car by this specific company but it's just great to see this work.

1981 Ferrari 400i project making good progress in the metalwork shop.

Engine is rebuilt and ready to go, interior is in the trim shop, suspension parts stripped down, powder coated and ready for reassembly. It won’t be long until this one is pushed into the printshop. Can’t wait!

Nürburgring 1991 : Ferrari 365GT4 2+2

Via Facebook:

https://www.facebook.com/abi2612/posts/pfbid0WkpkFVn1PmLq5Vk4dk4tBmR8vdiuouyzbLdPhYtbgFzfwjL5msHyn4Hf6gfTDQfNl

It‘s #ferrarifriday, so what could be a more adequate post than a photo of a Ferrari meeting?

Today‘s flashback takes us back to the weekend of August 9 through 11, 1991. Gregor Schulz and yours truly did attend the AvD Oldtimer Grand Prix at the Nürburgring together. The then only two years old factory-subsidiary German Ferrari importer, Ferrari Deutschland GmbH of Frankfurt am Main, hosted a big Ferrari meeting on Saturday and Sunday which attracted more than 400 Ferrari from all over Europe.
Gregor took this photo of an unidentified white 365 GT4 2+2. I only know that the car was owned by Hermann Nalop, a notary resident in Bünde, Germany. The Borrani wire wheels are of course not original on this model from the early 1970s, but don‘t look totally off on the car IMHO. Furthermore, the small front spoiler of a Ferrari 400 had been fitted on this 365 GT4 2+2.
The red 412 parked behind is s/n 64607, owned from new by the late Armand Weyer from Luxembourg.

Monaco Ferrari 365GT4 2+2

I hit this Instagram post because of this 365GT4 2+2 (what else). I spotted it had the MC sticker and the associated "Monaco Motors - G. Cavallari" decal as well. So likely an original delivered car in Monaco albeit currently on French plates. For a moment I thought it was this one:

 But it's not. Adding it here just for the records.

The owner runs this car business:

For a long time, I didn’t really like the 365 GT4 2+2, the 400i, and its successors. But I think I’ve finally changed my mind — better late than never, right?

I started one for the first time yesterday, and somehow we just clicked. Maybe it’s because this one is completely original, or maybe it’s the sound from its drilled exhaust (Definitely not the weak battery that left me stranded)

I guess some things are hard to explain — you just have to feel them.

Czech Ferrari 400i Automatic

Today my radar hit this Czech article, published today, but it was behind a paywall;

https://ieuro.cz/automobilovy-klenot-ferrari-400i/

But upon further checking I found another 400 article on their website;

https://ieuro.cz/estet-z-maranella/

Which appears to be the same article but with a different header and not behind a paywall.

English translation:

https://ieuro-cz.translate.goog/estet-z-maranella/?_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en-US&_x_tr_pto=wapp

And upon checking my own blog I found this post with the same article again, back then it was blocked;

And hereby also the original Linkedin post with the reference;

Ferrari 400i Automatic 1981 - Bekleidungswerke Hucke AG Lübbecke

Adding this one just for the records and for the original car telephone kit. And it had the original registration booklet. This car was ordered as a company car for the German company "bekleidungswerke Hucke" which is a fashion clothing brand:

Hucke (originally Hucke AG in Lübbecke, Germany) was a prominent German clothing manufacturer, founded in the late 1940s, known for women's ready-to-wear and European-style coats. Today, the brand is primarily found as "vintage" or second-hand clothing, such as wool blazers, trench coats, and coats from the 1980s.

Ouch - project car - Ferrari 400i RHD 5 speed manual

Via https://www.gullwingmotorcars.com/1981-ferrari-400i-c-5633.htm

VIN: 38913
Price:
$24,500

It was shipped to the US from the UK in 2012. It has been off the road since 1993.

It is still in its original colours of Azzurro Metallizzato with Tabacco VM 846 (dark beige) hide.

It has a sunroof which most probably would have been fitted in the UK when new.

More Maranello Concessionaires - parked in the street

 Via Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/DVx-yovDMuD

Maranello Concessionaires… Unsure whether to title these photographs as The Montpelier Street Car Park or Maranello Concessionaires London SW7.
In a post yesterday I explained Mark Konig’s idea in 1980 that rather than trade every part exchange I should take some of them home and attempt to sell them privately.
Here are a selection of a few parked outside of my house … the Argento GTB 21785 (UYF 20S) was not a trade car but my own. Nevertheless my neighbours wouldn’t have differentiated and became increasingly annoyed they couldn’t park their own cars. My immediate neighbour was the producer of all the James Bond films and threatened to have said Mr Bond implode all my cars. I never knew if he was joking. However his wife was Italian and loved having lots of Ferrari parked in front of her house.
I know my ‘record’ was 7 all in a row but I can’t find a photograph and it’s possible I didn’t take one. My photography was sporadic and as can be seen usually when it was raining. As the photographs were never used in the adverts I’m unsure why I took them.

I only copied the "400s" from his post.

Ferrari 400i phase 2 (1982 - 85) - heater control frames reproduction

A German owner has created a high quality reproduction of the heater control frames. It has been a very small batch of 5 sets only. So hurry if you need them or be on the safe side and have them as spare in your own stock.

See thread on FChat or on FB below

https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/reproduction-heater-control-frames-any-interest.697490/

https://www.facebook.com/groups/8727831092/posts/10164665519481093/

I've finished the first set of heater control frames.

They're made in Germany of CNC machined aluminium, trowalized and anodized, with the "dots and arrows" recessed by 0,5mm and filled with enamel paint.
The buttons and adapters for the levers are 3D-printed.
200€ + shipping for the set as pictured.
